The latest installment of the Museum’s showcase for outstanding regional contemporary art features the distinctive works of this North Alabama native. Part painting and part assemblage, Bibb’s art combines wood, metal, paper, found objects, tar, and wax into quirky tableaux with a strong narrative presence.

ASF will auction off the artwork with the proceeds benefiting the theatre. The auction process will begin online on February 3 at www.masterpieces.asf.net will run through April 20. On April 25, the final bidding will take place during the Masterpieces Center Stage Auction. Hold your sisters hand, for the picture!

I recently was commissioned by a friend of mine to do a portrait of their two children. This is JuJu and Riley. JuJu's hair is multi-layered and constructed of a license plate and corrugated metal. I used old clock gears to construct Riley's head. The painting is 3ft x 3ft, on birch.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival is celebrating their 25th Anniversary. To promote the Anniversary, ASF has asked 34 artist to create artwork for the occasion. The collection will travel the state starting in February. The first exhibition will be in Anniston at the Berman Museum, February 3-6, then will go to the following locations; Mobile Museum of Art, February 10-19; Littlehouse Gallery, Birmingham, February 24-March 5; Huntsville Museum of Art, March 24-27; Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, March 31-April 19. All of the pieces will be auctioned at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art to raise money for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

The Nest

Starting a new series of nest. The Nest is on a 24" x 24" canvas. The nest is made from various wire. The eggs are acrylic on wood with a tar coating. I have started 4 of these and will be available at the Chastain Park Art Festival in Atlanta, GA.
